Blogs And Wikis

Well there are 7 Good Reasons to start Blogging.
  1. It helps your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as Google loves new content!
  2. You can engage and understand your customers better.
  3. You are seen as an expert in your field, a ” Thought Leader”
  4. Great new content gives people a reason to keep coming back to your site.
  5. Blogs are a much more trusted source than companies press releases and official company PR.
  6. It moves customers to a conversion point where enough trust is created for people to take the next step and buy.
  7. By writing you are learning.

1) To-do list. Once you’ve learned the simple wiki markup language, creating a list is easy.
2) Project management. A wiki can be a great way to plan and manage a project, from conception to completion.
3) Operations manuals. If you’ve got a company full of web workers, it doesn’t make sense to have a hardcopy or server-hosted version of a manual — put it online, so that it can be updated when things change, so that anyone can view the updated version at any time.
5) Plan an event. Conferences, weddings, off-site meetings, parties … events of all kinds have been planned with wikis, because they’re perfect.
6) Log client work. If you do a lot of freelancing, like I do, you know that you need a system of logging your work — either hours spent on a project or number of projects completed (articles written, in my case), along with dates, rates and other notes.
7) Track invoices. Similarly, you also need to track your invoices to each client — the work done, dates, rates, etc., along with when the invoices were submitted, when they’re due, and when they were paid.

Blogger VS. WordPress

Blogger and WordPress are two of the top used blogging websites and they go head to head with each other trying to be the best of the best but only one can be the best and I'm here to show you the differences between the two to show which one pro vales.

Customization

  •  Blogger recently added a collection of templates to its repertoire. They are easy to use and give you the ability to change colors, fonts, and layouts. Advanced users can also edit the HTML and even add CSS.
  • WordPress is stricter with its template editing functionalities. However, the advantage to WordPress is the 100+ themes it offers which rivals Blogger. The disadvantages are the limitations with customization, although with most themes, you can upload a custom header image and some other themes offer additional customization. Advanced users can edit the stylesheets, but this feature is only available as a paid upgrade.

Ease of use

  • Blogger is more geared towards the beginner user. Its interface is simple to use and very straightforward.
  • WordPress requires some time to adjust to its interface and platform. However, after you learn the ropes, it is easy to navigate

Image Editing

  • Blogger allows for only one image upload at a time. Its image editing is also tedious since you must know HTML if you want to add a caption, insert a link or adjust the size of the image.
  • WordPress allows multiple image uploads at one time and its image editing capabilities are simple and straightforward. No HTML knowledge is required.
